Abstract:Psychiatric comorbidities in epilepsy is a common mental disorder, but the mechanisms of those disorders are indefinite, and some patients are disturbed by this disease time and again, which greatly affects the quality of life in patients. The technologies of neuroimaging provide a unique approach to studying the abnormal cerebral structure and function. This article is to review recent studies of psychiatric comorbidities in epilepsy based on depression in people with epilepsy, anxiety in people with epilepsy, schizophrenia-like psychosis of epilepsy and attention deficit- hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in people with epilepsy, aiming to expand the way of thinking about and understanding in clinical researches and in exploring mechanisms of psychosis of epilepsy.
